With 4D’s release of v14, objects became the latest, greatest feature. Guy has been using objects for years. He will demo an interface which collects sales data and creates incentives from this data. Pat Bensky of Tenthmatrix Information Systems will give us a tour of CatBase: The Database Publishing Solution. CatBase is a powerful solution for turning data into illustrated catalogues, directories, price lists, etc. The database is very user-configurable: in the demo we’ll show how a user can:
– Define as many tables, fields, and the relationships between them as they need.
– Design their own data entry forms, placing and sizing fields and other objects, such as included lists from related tables.
– Define the columns to appear on each table’s list view.
