Protée sarl – Tools and Code Introspection For Developers – Olivier Grimbert

In this meeting, Olivier Grimbert introduces us to his company Protée sarl and the many useful 4D components they have developed over decades of offering 4D solutions in France and internationally. Their products contain a wide range of 4D components to manage the development, build, and deployment of all of your 4D applications.

Today, the focus is on development. Olivier will cover ogDevTools for code introspection, ogMake for “build-notary”, and also show off few additional free components to make your development life easier!

The ogDevTools component helps the developer in its daily routine with the code. It gives meta interfaces with high level interaction and is composed of actions and modules for Databases, Methods, Forms, and Miscellaneous. Easily organize code between different databases, get a hold on variable naming and declarations, auto-generate attractive and informative code documentation templates, and more!

ogMake allows you to “make” your component or database in a snap. Make means zipping all application contents for archive, building, adding files, organizing web content, and launching a method in the host application to let you do additional stuff if your build process requires. Then ogMake handles all details of the notary process: sign, ditto, notarize, and staple… all done in one click!
